Special Report – Heimtextil 2020 Frankfurt – by Vigour Impex

This is year’s round up of Heimtextil 2020 includes a lot of exciting insights into what’s in for the future. Team Vigour has been in Germany to attend Messe Frankfurt’s Heimtextil 2020 fair which took place from 7th of Jan to 10th of Jan 2020. This the largest interior textiles show on earth. With more than 3000 exhibitors featuring stunning collections and innovations in the field of textiles, it has once again stood to its promise of introducing new trends and setting the future straight towards sustainability.

The demands of today’s consumers range from recycled yarns to the use of organic cotton in various made ups of bedding, towels, and interior textiles. This in turn adds value to the manufacturer offerings which enables the manufacturers to comply with leading certifications, traceability of its offering, keeping in mind health, comfort and durability of the end user.

Brands have realized and are complying to sustainable offerings and have worked aggressively towards changing their sourcing parameters. Heimtextil was a clear example of what the brands were demanding and collections on display from prominent manufacturers from around the world had sustainability loudly on display.

The footfall however has decreased over the years according to interaction with over 72 different exhibitors of large, medium and small size. Some were our customers; others were our prospects and rest were our vendors. This factor is mainly due to the high globalized travelling trends of customers to fly directly to the offering markets if a need arises.

The closing of deals and number of inquiries generated during the fair has been significant specially for Pakistan, being the favorite for bedding and towels, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), a government subsidiary, had played a vital part in organizing the Pakistani industry’s leading manufacturers and at the same time allowing SME’s to exhibit in order to have a fair advantage of bringing in business to the country.

Despite falling visitor numbers, Heimtextil is still a valuable source of meeting your customers, potentials and vendors all in one place and to experience the upcoming trends and innovations leading to a knowledge trip in understanding what’s in there for the future.
